Default Handicapping: The default handicapping method is to have handicaps played off of the lower ball in the match (as stated above). However if both players agree to use the handicapping method to where both players get all their strokes, or any other method, that is fine. But both players must agree prior to the match starting.
Default Handicaps For A Player To Use: The default handicaps for a player to use is their GHIN Course Handicap. Players Handicap Index gets updated daily during the active season. But if both players do not agree, then you use the current GHIN Index for the player. Depending on when the match is held, that is when you look at the players GHIN Index and convert to the Players Course Handicap (best way to figure this out is by using the GHIN App or website).
